Spring Day at the Cumberland Bird Sanctuary

At last spring is nearly here and to celebrate, everyone is invited to attend the Cumberland Bird Sanctuary’s Spring Day taking place on Sunday, 1 September from 08:30 to 16:30.

Come for a peaceful walk on Sunday or bring your families and have a picnic in the beautiful surroundings.

The Cumberland Bird Sanctuary is approximately 5.2 hectares in size and is a “Protected Area” with the entrance situated on Cumberland Avenue in Bryanston, between Angus Rd and Moray Drive. Although it is in the middle of the suburb, in a built up area, there are an abundance of birds with 82 species currently on the Birdlist. There is a bird hide overlooking a small dam. Paths have been laid out and there are some picnic tables and benches. It is a peaceful haven where the whole family can enjoy a walk or picnic. No fires are allowed and in the interest of the bird life, no dogs are allowed.

The park is open to the public on the 1st Sunday of every month.
